it’s the most wonderful time

Christmas is out of the attic! The cats are super jazzed for the new perching spots. We’re going to try a new tree location this year. I’m a little nervous, because the tree will be much more out in the open than it has been in years past. And this is the first Christmas with …

fall flowers

These beauties are gracing my bedside table this week. They are chocolate sunflowers from Floral & Hardy Farm in Lexington, SC. Aren’t they just the most perfect fall flower? I’m in love with their deep color. Hemingway likes them, too.

au naturale

My roommates (husband and brother) are still teasing me for mixing up my own dry shampoo. It was a good plan, but it convinced me I had lice every day made my head itch like whoa. But my days of mixing up natural cleaning stuff aren’t over yet! I saw this recipe for a natural …

orange?

Well, ya’ll. The “white hibiscus” I was so excited about finally bloomed. Good thing it has that little tinge of red- otherwise I’d toss it out for being a Clemson plant. Kidding! …maybe. Many more garden pictures to come soon- we have a lot growing and blooming out there! We’re excited about fresh veggies and …

Bamboo weekend

What is it about house contractors and picking the absolute worst carpet they can find? I’m sure price had a lot do with it, but come on. We’ve been in our house for 3 1/2 years now, and the carpet has never looked good. It’s never looked bad either, but it’s certainly never looked good. …
