To make a long story short, we were desperate for a getaway and very short on time. So we headed up to Highlands, North Carolina for a couple of days. It was perfect and lovely.
We stayed in a swanky hotel, ate some amazing meals, did a little shopping, chased nature down some terrifying roads, climbed a (tiny) mountain, and made the most of our mini-break!
It was awesome.

PS- I spent most of this trip gushing about seeing “my first waterfall!” At some point, I realized, oh hey, I’ve been visiting Niagara Falls with my family for as long as I can remember. So, yeah, not my first waterfall.
